Read the terms and guidelines for using Marketplace 🖼️
This marketplace (the “Notion Marketplace”) is a place to share your own work with other Notion End Users. This work may include templates, creator profiles, or any other type of content that may be authorized by Notion in the future (“Your Work”). “End Users” means any users of Your Work, which may include individuals or organizations that are mutual customers of you and Notion. Use of the Notion Marketplace and your provision of Your Work to End Users through the Notion Marketplace is subject to Notion's Master Subscription Agreement and Personal Use Terms of Service (as applicable), Privacy Policy, and Content and Use Policy. Your use (if any) of Notion’s API, is governed by the Developer Terms. By Using the Notion Marketplace, you agree to abide by and follow those terms and these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use ("Notion Marketplace Terms of Use"). Any defined terms used below shall have the meaning as defined herein or in the agreements referenced above.
If you are a creator of a template, you own and retain ownership rights to any User Content or Customer Data (as applicable) included in the templates you make available; provided that at all times Notion shall retain full ownership of the Services and any and all functionality that you use to generate such template and any third parties who use your templates retain their ownership rights in their User Content and Customer Data that may be processed in your template. As between End Users of Notion who download third party templates from the Notion Marketplace and Notion, templates are Non-Notion Applications.
We may have or develop products or features that may be competitive with Your Work. You agree that nothing will serve to restrict our right to develop, make, use, procure, or market such products or features now or in the future or will require us to compensate you in any way related to Your Work (other than payment obligations that may arise in connection with Paid Templates).
Please respect the intellectual property rights of others, including Notion, and do not post anything to the Notion Marketplace that you don’t have the rights to post. This includes unauthorized copying of functionality found in other templates or other content. By making Your Work available in the Notion Marketplace or elsewhere, you represent and warrant that you have the rights and/or permission to create Your Work and make Your Work available to others. If you choose to make Your Work (including creator profile or listing information) available through the Notion Marketplace, You grant to Notion, during the Term, a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, and royalty-free license to (a) reproduce, perform, display, and use Your Work for administrative and demonstration purposes in connection with the operation, improvement and marketing of the Notion Marketplace; (b) distribute Your Work to End Users through the Notion Marketplace for their use; (c) perform a security and privacy review on Your Work; and (d) use the trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos, and domain names associated with Your Work (collectively, "Your Names") as a reference for marketing or promotional purposes on and in connection with the Notion Marketplace and in other communications with, or promotions for, existing or potential developers, partners and customers about the Notion Marketplace. For example, we might include Your Names in the Notion Marketplace and in blog posts about the Notion Marketplace.
You hereby grant End Users that enable Your Work in their workspace a non-exclusive license to access and use Your Work for so long as they retain an active Subscription to the Services or as otherwise agreed between You and the End User. Reposting of content or work, in whole or in part, purchased from other creators is strictly prohibited.

These are the guiding principles for content that is published in the Notion Marketplace. Work that doesn't reflect these standards are subject to rejection or removal from the Notion Marketplace.
Quality and Design: Your Work should be well-designed, visually appealing, and offer a high level of utility. It should be free of errors, with thoughtful organization and structure.
Originality: Your Work must be original content or use content that you have the rights to use. Your Work should offer unique value compared to existing content on the Notion Marketplace.
User Experience: Your Work should be easy to use and understand, with clear instructions in the form of call-outs, videos or placeholder content for customization and use. They should be structured in a way that's intuitive for new and existing users alike.
Privacy and Security: Your Work must respect user privacy and data security. If Your Work requests personal information it must clearly explain its use and comply with applicable data protection regulations.
Compliance and Legality: As referenced above, Your Work must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including copyright and trademark laws. It cannot promote illegal activities or contain objectionable content. Name and imagery must comply with Notion's Brand Guidelines and Notion’s Content and Use Policy.
Categorization: Your Work must be accurately categorized to ensure End Users can easily find what they're looking for. You must provide a clear, concise description and relevant tags for Your Work.
Spam Free: Submitting multiple versions of Your Work, or that flood the Notion Marketplace with low-quality, repetitive, or misleading content, is not allowed. Further, do not post advertisements in Your Work or link to websites with spam within Your Work.
Recent: Submissions must reflect the latest Notion features and best practices.
Accurate: Listings must have descriptions, images and videos that accurately reflect the content and language of Your Work. If Your Work is sold, the price must be clearly stated and in the currency in which it is sold.
If an End User chooses to share their email address with you or contact you directly, you agree not to sell or share that email address with any third parties and to engage with them in accordance with your documented privacy policy, legal terms and applicable law. You acknowledge and agree that you will provide a mechanism for End Users to unsubscribe from any marketing communications. Should users report to Notion that you are spamming or engaging them with unwanted contact, Notion may choose to exercise its right to suspend or remove you from the Notion Marketplace.
Unless you have appropriate consent, please ensure that Your Work and creator profile do not contain personal information or sensitive data such as:
Phone numbers.
Private email addresses.
Physical addresses.
Credit card, bank account, or social security information.
Passwords.
Notion has the sole discretion whether to list or remove Your Work from the Notion Marketplace and to stop providing the Notion Marketplace in its entirety. You acknowledge and agree that Notion reserves the right to not list, revoke, suspend, or otherwise remove Your Work from and your access to and use of the Notion Marketplace for any or no reason. Notion may post usage metric information related to Your Work on the Notion Marketplace. Notion reserves the right to charge fees for your use of the Notion Marketplace. You will receive advance notice of the implementation of any such fees.
Notion offers creators the ability to sell templates on the Marketplace (“Paid Templates”). In order to publish and maintain a Paid Template on the Notion Marketplace, you must (a) submit such Paid Template to Notion for approval and listing as a Paid Template; (b) sign up and register for an account with the Payment Processor (defined below) under the terms communicated to you by the Payment Processor; (c) provide the Paid Template to End Users in accordance with your contractual commitments to the End User and applicable law; (d) submit a creator profile to Notion for approval; and (e) provide ongoing commercially reasonable support to End Users of the Paid Template. You acknowledge Notion’s right to charge transaction, payment, and/or listing fees (“Notion Fees”) as may be communicated to you from time to time either directly or in Documentation. “Payment Processor” means the third party payment processor that processes fees related to a Paid Template.
You acknowledge and agree that Notion may, at its sole discretion, initiate a refund related to any Purchase Fee (defined below) paid by an End User in connection with an End User’s purchase of one of your templates in the event that Notion determines such a refund is appropriate or as described in the Documentation or otherwise. Without limiting any other rights afforded Notion with respect to such refund, the parties acknowledge and agree that any refund may be processed through the Payment Processor and taken out of your Payment Processor account and returned to the relevant End User. In addition to a refund of the Purchase Fee, you will be responsible for payment of the Payment Processor transaction fee for the refund. In the event of a dispute or chargeback related to an End User purchase of a Paid Template, you will bear the financial responsibility for any such fees imposed by the relevant card network or payment processor and authorize Notion to deduct or charge such fees to your account with the Payment Processor.
If You submit a Paid Template, such Paid Template is approved by Notion, and you follow the required registration and listing steps contained herein and as otherwise communicated to you, then you may list the Paid Template on the Notion Marketplace and charge End Users to purchase the Paid Template. Fees collected from the sale of your Paid Template (“Purchase Fees”) must be processed through the Payment Processor account you registered for in connection with listing the Paid Template. You acknowledge and agree that Notion may be the listed merchant of record on such Purchase Fee charges to purchasers of your Paid Template. Purchase Fees shall be processed from the End User to You through the Payment Processor with Notion receiving the Notion Fees. Notion may revise the Notion Fees at any time. Continued listing of the Paid Template on the Notion Marketplace after notice of Notion’s collection of such fees, shall be deemed consent to the imposition and collection of such fees.
You appoint and authorize Notion as your non-exclusive disclosed commercial agent to conduct any action necessary regarding the sale of your Paid Template on the Notion Marketplace including promoting, selling, distributing and resolving payment disputes for Your Paid Template on the terms and conditions of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use, and Notion accepts such appointment. You agree to pay Notion the applicable Notion Fees for such services.
You will select the pricing for your Paid Template during the listing process based on the options available through the Notion Marketplace. Unless otherwise authorized by Notion, all Paid Templates may only be listed and payable in U.S. dollars. Paid Templates may not be offered through the Notion Marketplace as a mechanism to drive direct or off Notion Marketplace sales (through use of a discount code or otherwise). Should Notion suspect you are engaging in such activity it may suspend or terminate your use of the Notion Marketplace.
Payment. Subject to your compliance with these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use, for each sale of your Paid Template, we will remit to you the amount we've received for your sale of your Paid Template, less our Notion Fees, and any applicable taxes ("Net Proceeds"), in accordance with Notion’s then standard payment schedule for Paid Templates. You agree to provide the Payment Processor with valid bank account information in your name, so we can remit amounts owed to you to that account via the method we choose. We are entitled to accrue and withhold payments, without interest, until the total amount due to you (net of any tax withholding, as further described below) is at least the minimum required payout amount. You are solely responsible for any bank fees, interest charges, finance charges, overdraft charges, and any other fees you incur as a result of payments made to you.
Refund Mechanics. As noted above, we may issue refunds for your Paid Templates to End Users at any time at our sole discretion without liability. If a refund is issued before you receive the Net Proceeds for the refunded sale, you acknowledge that you will have no right to receive such Net Proceeds. If a refund is issued after you’ve received the Net Proceeds for the refunded sale, we may offset such Net Proceeds from any amounts owed to you or we may require you to pay us back such Net Proceeds. If Notion can’t successfully receive payment for any refunded fees owed by you, Notion may cancel your Notion Marketplace account and remove your templates from the Notion Marketplace. Notwithstanding this section, you agree that Notion shall not be responsible for and will not issue any refunds out of its funds (excluding the Notion Fees for the transaction) related to your Paid Template for any reason, including your failure to support the Paid Template. When these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use terminate, we may withhold all payments owed to you for at least 60 days from the date such payments are otherwise due to you in order to ensure we can offset any amounts refunded to End Users or any other amounts we are entitled to.
Taxes. Each party is responsible for the payment of all taxes (including any interest and penalties) in connection with these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use that are imposed on that party by law. Each party will be responsible for its own income taxes, employment taxes, and real property taxes. You are liable for all applicable taxes imposed on sales of your Paid Templates to End Users, but we will collect sales tax for such transactions and remit such taxes. We reserve the right to deduct or withhold any applicable taxes payable by you from amounts we owe to you, and the amounts due, as reduced by such deductions or withholdings, will constitute full payment to you. If we were required to collect a tax and did not do so at the time of sale, we reserve the right to later charge you for the applicable tax.
You are solely responsible for providing all support and technical assistance regarding Your Work to End Users who enable Your Work. You acknowledge that Notion has no obligation to provide support or technical assistance regarding Your Work to the End Users of Your Work and you will not represent to End Users that Notion will provide such support. You agree to use commercially reasonable efforts to provide support to End Users of Your Work.
Notion, or an authorized third party selected by us, may, but is not obligated to, conduct a security or privacy review of Your Work, including its supporting infrastructure, that You wish to make available on the Notion Marketplace to ensure compliance with (i) your obligations under these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use; and (ii) our security and privacy policies. Security and privacy reviews may include, without limitation: information requests to you, reviews of your documentation, interviews, security testing, technical testing and reviews, code reviews and scans (which may reverse engineer binary code), event logging, network testing, and vulnerability threat assessments. In addition, Notion reserves the right to request that you provide the source code for Your Work, but solely for the purpose of Notion conducting security and/or privacy tests. You agree to reasonably and promptly cooperate with such requests and reviews of Your Work’s supporting infrastructure. Notion (itself or through third parties) may conduct new or additional security or privacy scans beyond those described in this Section, in which case Notion will provide you at least fifteen (15) days prior notice. You may choose to opt-out of such scan with notice to Notion and be removed from the Notion Marketplace. Notion may conduct security or privacy reviews of Your Work prior to the listing or distribution of Your Work or at any time following distribution.
THE NOTION MARKETPLACE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AT YOUR OWN RISK, WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND. NOTION DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. NOTION DOES NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE NOTION MARKETPLACE.
You represent, warrant, and covenant to us during the term of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use that:
you are able to form a legally binding contract and you are at least 18 years of age (if you offer paid Paid Templates) or you are at least 16 years of age (if you only offer Your Work free of charge);
you have the requisite authority to enter into and perform these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use;
you hold all necessary rights to provide your templates to End Users on the Notion Marketplace and doing so does not violate any law applicable to you or Notion;
you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
Your Work will be compatible at all times with the latest version of the Notion Services; and
the information you provide about Your Work is true, accurate and complete.
IN NO EVENT WILL NOTION BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, DATA, BUSINESS OR PROFITS) OR FOR THE COST OF PROCURING SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE NOTION MARKETPLACE TERMS OF USE OR THE USE OR PERFORMANCE OF THE NOTION MARKETPLACE, WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY ARISES FROM A CLAIM BASED UPON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, AND WHETHER OR NOT NOTION HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE. NOTION’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FROM ALL CAUSES OF ACTION AND UNDER ALL THEORIES OF LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO AND WILL NOT EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500). THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS WILL SURVIVE AND APPLY EVEN IF ANY LIMITED REMEDY SPECIFIED IN THESE DEVELOPER TERMS IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
You will defend, indemnify, and hold Notion harmless from and against any liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, fines, penalties, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs), as incurred, arising out of or in any way connected to: (i) your access to and use of the Service, the API, or the Notion Marketplace; (ii) breach or violation of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use, or applicable laws, regulations, rules and orders of any governmental or regulatory body; and (iii) any third party claim related to Your Work.
Notion and you may disclose Confidential Information to each other. The receiving party may use the disclosing party’s Confidential Information only to exercise its rights and perform its obligations under these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use. The receiving party must use a reasonable degree of care to protect Confidential Information. The receiving party will not disclose Confidential Information to any third party except to its employees, agents, or third party contractors who need to know it and if they are bound by terms at least as restrictive as those in these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use. Confidentiality obligations do not apply to the extent the information: (a) was known to the receiving party without restriction before receipt from the disclosing party; (b) is publicly available through no fault of the receiving party; (c) is rightfully received by the receiving party from a third party without a duty of confidentiality; or (d) is independently developed by the receiving party without access to Confidential Information. A party may disclose Confidential Information to the extent it is compelled to do so by law if it provides reasonable prior notice to the other party, unless a court orders that the other party not be given notice. Upon written request, the receiving party will promptly return all Confidential Information and copies to the receiving party, or certify in writing that it has destroyed all such materials.
Term. The term of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use commences on the date you accept these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use and will continue in effect so long as any End User has the ability to license Your Work or until terminated by Notion.
Termination and Suspension. Notwithstanding anything else herein, we may determine in our sole discretion the content listed on the Notion Marketplace. Accordingly, we may remove or suspend Your Work, terminate your access to and use of the Notion Marketplace and/or terminate these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use, at our sole discretion, at any time and without notice or liability to you. You may stop making your templates available on the Notion Marketplace at any time through the process we establish.
Effect of Termination. Upon any termination of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use or delisting of Your Work from the Notion Marketplace, we may, in our discretion, retain copies of your templates and data for our record-keeping purposes. Additionally, we may, in our sole discretion, allow End Users to access content they’ve enabled or purchased from you after termination of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use, delisting of your templates, or deletion of your account.
To End Users. Termination or expiration of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use has no impact on your agreements with your End Users, and you must continue to comply with the terms of any agreements between you and your End Users until those agreements terminate or expire. Following such notice, you agree to comply with a commercially reasonable wind-down period and procedures for Your Work to protect the experience of End Users. Such procedures may include providing notices to End Users that Your Work will no longer be available for use (if that is the case).
To Notion. Any terms that by nature should survive termination of the Notion Marketplace Terms of Use will survive any termination or expiration of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use.
You acknowledge and agree that notwithstanding any Security Review conducted by Notion, Notion does not "certify," warrant or support Your Work. You further represent and warrant that: (i) you will not make any externally-facing statements that imply a Notion endorsement, certification, affiliation or partnership; and (ii) you will abide by Notion’s Brand Guidelines and Trademark Guidelines, as updated by Notion from time-to-time. Failure to comply with Notion’s Brand and Trademark Guidelines may result in termination of these Notion Marketplace Terms of Use and/or other Notion actions.
We may use your name, trademark, trade name, or logo (“Marks”) for marketing or promotional purposes. Any goodwill that accrues to your Marks from our use in accordance with this Section will inure exclusively to you.
These Notion Marketplace Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California without regard to the conflict of law provisions thereof.
